The Alsatian Crossing

Alsace, a land of contrasts and colours, is always a very pleasant hike, for the quality of its hospitality, the diversity of its paths and the sweetness of its wines. Many quality tracks and paths, landscapes and views of all the balloons of the Vosges and the Alsatian plain, our favourite itinerary stretches almost from south to north, sailing from the wine-growing foothills and colourful villages of Riquewhir, Ribeauvillé and Kayserberg to the successive high forests and passes that form the almost natural border between the departments of the Vosges and those of beautiful Alsace, yet gathered in the imposing Vosges mountains so favourable to horse riding. From the small coloured high-altitude lakes as their names indicate, to the green valleys of Munster or Saint Marie, a dive on Saverne before heading back up to the pink sandstone village of La Petite Pierre. A hike that will stay in the riders' memories forever, just a haunting urge that titillates, come back to it.......
